Favorite Local Hike: The Toadstools

Posted by Becky Glover on Jan 20, 2021 in Just Listed

Living in Kanab means you are located in the most perfect year-round base camp for exploring national parks, canyons, lakes, and desert landscapes. There are endless hidden gems, and there are adventures for everyone! As a Kanab local resident, I get to explore the ins & outs of the landscapes.

This week’s Favorite Adventure was to the Toadstools!

Are you ready to experience another planet? Because that’s what this hike has to offer. The balanced rock formations here look like mushrooms and offer awe-inspiring views that enchant. The toadstools are easy to access along an easy to moderate 1.5-mile round-trip hike. This hike is great for families, retirees, or the adventure photographer looking for some inspiring content!

This hike is located just 40 minutes east of Kanab, and makes for the perfect afternoon trip. If I had more time, I would’ve loved to pair this hike with one around the Paria, which is just down the road from this trailhead!

There are no fees to visit The Toadstools, and the trailhead is directly off of HWY 89 and easily accessible year-round.

I DARE YOU to take an adventure in and around Kanab this week! Whether you’re a local who thinks they’ve seen it all, or a potential future Kanab resident, there is so much to see and do!
